Pre-Commissioning Crew Crew in San Diego prior to boarding the USS Coronado
at Bremerton Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington

This image was captured on 9 August 1970, the night before Coronado's first equator crossing.
Pictured in the middle was the only Shellback, PO Don Kefover (now deceased) and from left to right front,
Pollywogs PO Vic Barish, WO Chuck Cooper, PO Willie Enzweiler, and PO Dave Kilpatrick. In the rear from left to right are Pollywogs PO Doug Chirhart, PO Harry Thiel, PO Norman Anderson, PO Bill Bobbing, and CPO Gil Beyer.
The occasion was the OE Division Pollywog Revolt and I have to say that PO Kefover was a very good sport.
Dave Kilpatrick, Plankowner

This photo was taken on the O-3 level outside of the SPS-10 Radar space or UHF Radio space. I believe we were in the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard at that time but it is also possible that this was taken before we left Bremerton in 1970.
If anyone remembers, you can update the information.
Pictured are crew members, all plank owners, of OE Division. They are as follows:
Front L-R: PO Les Gaiter, PO Dave Kilpatrick, PO Frank Hunter, PO Bill Bobbing, and PO Ron Pyle
Rear L-R: SN Willie Enzweiler, PO Harry Thiel, PO Vic Barish, PO Ron Mueller, PO Paul Ackerman, PO Doug Chirhart,
and PO Myron Young
This is not the entire division and I have no idea what prompted the taking of this particular photo.
A collection of nice looking, and very young, men.
Dave Kilpatrick, Plankowner
