Don Kefover

ET1 Don Kefover was the old salt of our division and mentored many of the new guys.
He was very professional and set a great example of what a Navy professional was supposed to be. As an instructor at Great Lakes he was arguably the best they have ever seen, consistently getting great results from every group of students who sat in front of him. After transferring from Great Lakes in 1976 we lost track of each other. It is my understanding that he went back to sea in WESTPAC, then transferred back to Instructor Duty on the West Coast.
He failed to report for work one morning and was found in his room in the barracks the victim of a heart attack.
Senior Chief Electronics Technician Don Kefover was born in Pennsylvania on 4 December 1945 and died in October of 1982.
